Google is introducing its own DNS service

Slow DNS lookups are one of the primary causes of "flaky" internet connections. This competes with existing alternative-DNS services like OpenDNS, but unlike those does not have the obligation to monetize. Google says it's to "make the web faster", but its strategy for doing so seems to involve slowly absorbing every aspect of the Internet experience.
