It's been a quiet week of Easter vacation so far, verging on mind-numbingly-dull. There have even been surprisingly few blog-worthy entries, possibly because Internet access has been down for most of the week -- thank you, Windows 2000. Kicking off:
  • The Illustrious Ed sent me the story of the iBong. Please draw no conclusions of any kind.
  • Nigel followed up with this mildly condescending but very amusing exhibition of Russian greeting cards. Yay for stern-looking baby chickens and enormous, humanoid egg-people.
  • Oekaki BBS is a quite intelligent Java-based drawing applet hooked up to a messageboard system: you draw, you post your drawing immediately, and people comment. Fascinating to play with, and also for seeing what other people draw. There's a certain topical cross-pollination from Smut (which is where I found the link) but some of them are really quite good.
  • On the geeky side of things, SysInfo for NT is the replacement for Hack-it! that I've been looking for. Take control of your windows, dammit!
  • Thanks to Graham (yes, I know the link is broken, send me the right one then!) for pointing me to boom selection, and specifically Smells like teeny booty. Excellent track.
  • These bastards won't give me a job because I'm a student, and therefore do not represent long-term earnings potential for them.
  • My upcoming update to this site features a stupidly complicated Content Management System. Coincidentally, Slashdot ran an article on Content Management Nightmares, which was timely. According to people who know, Vignette is still something of a market leader, which is staggering, because Vignette is just appallingly bad. And finally...
  • Stop press! Fat dancer leaves band!
