The first neuroelectronic chip. It's all very cool -- neurons grown on silicon, signals passing between the two -- but something about the picture creeps me out. Apparently, the first time they tried, the neurons grew away from the silicon. So they fenced them in, with little plastic posts. And I don't know, maybe I'm anthroporphising again, but that little guy looks like he doesn't like being trapped there. I'm going to launch my Free The Neurons campaign tomorrow.
