Random links I've made today:
  • Get your very own George W. Bush Aviator Action Figure! Complete with flight suit!
  • Nuclear-isomer weapons are a new form of superweapon with the potential to be significantly more powerful than nuclear weapons, with less fallout and with a significantly more versatile range of uses (they can be made much smaller than nukes, as there's no critical mass). New Scientists speculates we may be looking at a new arms race. Pray not.
  • Next time you do something bad, remember the Chewbacca defence (one of his many cameo roles).
  • Test yourself: programming language inventor or serial killer? (I got 5/10, and I have a degree in this stuff...)
  • The W32.Blaster worm currently making the rounds apparently has some amusing messages in its source code, such as: "Billy Gates why do you make this possible? Stop making money and fix your software!!" (Corroboration from WinInformant). Having been hit by this myself yesterday (shame on me for not patching) I'm glad there was at least some humour to be found :-) Blaster exploits a long-standing RPC vulnerability in Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003 and has formerly sparked warnings from the Department of Homeland Security.

Update 2003.08.15: There's already a second version of the virus out and wreaking more havoc.
