At last, the long wait is over!
Forgive me for losing perspective somewhat, but we have ADSL and this is just fantastic! Fast Internet access is how the world should be. 576K downstream, baby... you know you want some. Incidentally, BT are not as inefficient as they seem: apparently BT charges 40 GBP per month for ADSL because Oftel says that's as cheap as they're allowed to offer it, and cheaper would be unfair competition. Of course, the reason everybody else is more expensive than BT is probably because BT is charging them somewhere, but whatever, it sounds nice. And NTL can't do ADSL over overhead cable. Bastards.
