\nWhy do they keep time?\r
\nWhy are my songs mine?\r
\nWhere do they come from?\r
\nWhat are they for?\r
\nYou wanna know\r
\nIf I can cut and clip my thoughts\r
\nThey must not be that valuable\r
\n

But you are wrong\r
\nAbout this song\r
\nThe thoughts arrive\r
\nAlready rhymed\r
\nThey already fit\r
\nInto the mould\r
\nI string them out onto the keyboard\r
\nAll I add is punctuation\r
\n

Why do I feel my songs must be pretty?\r
\nWhy do I want them to be in tune?\r
\nWhy do I write these songs in the first place?\r
\nI may not know\r
\nBut it's not for pleasing you.\r
\n

Why is the timing always the same?\r
\nWhy must the rhyming always be so lame?\r
\nWhy must you always be such a pain?\r

But still the thought-forms keep arriving\r

\nThe echos build to a crescendo then\r
\nAnother rhyme is being said\r

\nThe little thoughts\r
\nThat slip away\r

\nWhy I have thoughts that fit into a rhyming structure, if I can cut and clip them to fit then they can't be all that valuable. Why do I feel my songs must be pretty?
